Spring has Sprung in Suji-gu, South Korea

The Cherry Blossoms are out, it's starting to get warmer and allergies are in full affect here in beautiful South Korea.  It's pretty impressive how many Cherry Blossom tree's there are everywhere which I'll show you in a different post with pictures from my walk to work every morning.

We've been here for exactly 2 months and 2 days and the Korean Crud has gotten the best of both of us  (everyone gets sick within the first month or so of being here...just being around sneezing/coughing Korean kids and adults will do it.  Sarah got it a few weeks ago and I finally came down with a case of it this past weekend).  I had every intention to run in the Bundang 5K run on Sunday but the sickness knocked all of that desire out of me.  Sarah was able to run in the race and for the both of us at least, being the trooper that she is :)

We have our first long weekend coming up on May 17th for Buddha's birthday and are planning a trip down south for the Green Tea Festival.  One of the main points of coming over here is to see as much of the country as possible and the best way to do that is to get out of town every chance we get.  More on that soon though.

Either way, life is good over here.  Yes, the kids at school can be brats, punks, asshats, bastards, etc. and the school has it's ups and downs, just like any other full time job, but it's just about taking everything in stride and trying to enjoy the time I have over here with Sarah, exploring a great country.

Jinhae Cherry Blossom Festival

We made it down south for the weekend and
saw cherry blossoms, ate some squid, saw some Korean warships and made it back home before 2am Sunday night.  Luckily, no war has broken out and the weekend is almost here!  I said in a Facebook post earlier this week that South Koreans just don't really put much weight into what the North says and go about their daily lives as if nothing is happening.  I'm not worried at all really and am looking forward to seeing more of the country while I'm here.

Here are a few pictures from our trip though...enjoy!

Home Sweet Home!

Amid all of the N. Korean nonsense, things are going pretty good over here.  Most South Korean's don't even really pay much attention to what's being said up north and go about their business as if nothing is happening.  Why worry though I suppose...life is too short.

Either way, we have a trip booked to go down near Busan to a place called Jinhae.  It's the largest cherry blossom festival in Korea so we figured, why not go check it out.  I'll be sure to post a picture or two of our trip but until then, I promised to post some pictures of our new apartment so here they are!  Sorry it took a little longer than expected...Enjoy!
